I am currently recruiting for an Accounts supervisor based in Chertsey. You will be working for a family owned company in a small and Friendly team. You'll be supervising junior members of the accounts team. Previous experience in a supervisory position is not essential as training and development will be provided, however you will need to have a very strong understanding of the accounts function and will have worked in a relevant position previously.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the month end close process. This will include calculating depreciation, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations. Review and distribute the accounts up to P&L.
  • Oversea the monthly sales distributor commission calculation and payment. Reconcile commissions against stock sent. Ensure agents receive communications on a regular basis
  • Filing of intrastat and EC sales online
  • Responsibility for the update and management of the Purchase ledger within the Sage Line 50 accounts system
  • Supervise the entry of all Sales and Purchase invoices on a daily basis
  • Resolve customer, supplier and internal queries on disputed invoices
  • Work closely with other departments to improve / customise our invoice authorisation process.
  • Reconcile supplier statements to our accounts system
  • Complete the fortnightly supplier payment cycle
  • Manage expenses, petty cash and company credit card
  • Review any aged creditors over 90 days
  • Reconcile bank statements including (GBP, Euro, USD)
  • Other adhoc duties including scanning of Accounts Payable invoices and completing new vendor forms.


  • Experience of working in a similar role within a busy accounts department.
  • Detailed knowledge of Sage Line 50
  • Foreign currency experience an advantage
  • Excellent numeric skills and good attention to detail.
  • Intermediate Excel and Word skills and the ability to present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Organised and able to prioritise. Some supervisory experience would be an advantage.
  • Team player with excellent communication skills including good telephone manner and written skills.
