The role supports external and internal communications for a fantastic company, a FTSE 250 listed company with a market capitalisation of approximately £1bn, c.5000 employees and businesses located in UK, US, Canada and Australia. The small Head Office team is based in Central London. The Group is an Application Engineering company focusing on the Maritime & Communication, Command and Control markets. Their biggest customers are the US Department of Defence and the UK Ministry of Defence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the Head of IR and Internal Comms in the successful generation and delivery of :
  • External communications
  • Update Investor and Media sections of the Group website, ensuring content is current and accurate
  • Responsible for developing the Group press release process and ensuring all press releases are drafted and released as required
  • Approve and support the production and distribution of Group and business press releases
  • Manage and administer Group social media accounts
  • Ensure consistent messaging across PR, IR and Internal communications channels
  • Helping to manage Group relationships with external PR agencies

Internal communications:

  • Communicate with c.5000 employees globally, c20 businesses, over 4 geographies
  • Channel management - that will include training and maintenance (experience in Office tools desirable, SharePoint in particular)
  • Internal communications strategy, co-ordinate organisational news and encourage collaboration between businesses
  • Creation of new Intranet and traveling to different business units to encourage use and creation of case studies and sharing of best practice examples
  • Support drafting of management change communications
  • Financial and investor relations
  • Project management of Annual Report & Account production
  • Support organisation of analyst and investor events
  • Support and drive the preparation of all investor communications and results collateral including press releases, presentations, briefing notes, Q&As etc.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the valuation in the markets, providing regular and informed updates to the board
  • Help develop the IR programme and strategy, contributing towards all aspects of communications
  • Support responding to incoming investor enquiries and attend investor meetings where appropriate, keeping appropriate records of meeting content and attendees
  • Help the sell side analysts with their understanding of the company
  • Track and circulate internally relevant and competitor news flow
  • Develop and maintain analyses of the share register, including investor targeting
  • Support the analysis of consensus numbers, preparing briefing notes ahead of investor meetings and logistics management ahead of roadshows
