Fantastic opportunity to join a well established and growing business in Telford. Our client is looking for an experienced Credit controller to join their team on a full time basis.

Working hours are Monday- Friday 09:00-17:00.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • To carry out credit control and verifications for the client portfolio providing support to the operations department.
  • It is expected that in discharging the accountabilities described below the post holder will consult with and gain the support of the key stakeholders, in particular: the Operations Team Leader and Client Managers and the New Business Team.
  • In carrying out the responsibilities of the role, the post holder will work with (or have significant contact with): the Operations Department.

Operational Delivery

  • To carry out thorough credit control activities on the client portfolio. To target high risk accounts as determined by the Administration Team Leader, Account Managers, Client Managers and Operations Manager.
  • To carry out verifications for New Business, the CID department and the factoring clients as required providing support to the department.
  • To assist Client Managers to resolve unallocated cash items.
  • To assist Client Managers with post and franking.
  • To deliver a high quality customer service, ensuring all dealings with client accounts are based on 'Treating Customer Fairly' (TCF).
  • To maintain effective and professional communication with both external and internal customers.
  • To report findings of verifications and credit control exercises to Administration Team Leader and Client Managers/Account Managers as appropriate.
  • To retain Client numbers through delivering effective customer service and remaining professional at all times

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience of working in a Credit Control role
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills-minimum GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a methodical manner, especially when under pressure
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment, maintaining accuracy and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and the expectations of internal and external customers
  • A clear understanding of the importance of projecting a professional and friendly impression at all times and an appreciation of the need for us to place a strong emphasis on providing an excellent service at all times
  • The ability to work in a collaborative manner as part of a team, as well as independently using own initiative when required.
