Our client, a global leader in their industry, is recruiting for an Environmental EMEA Health and Safety Specialist to join their fast paced health and safety team. The role is an exciting opportunity to join a team supporting the EMEA, Asia and LATAM sites, although it is a UK based role. The ideal candidate will have 2- 4 years experience in Health and Safety and may have also done facilities management previously. A Degree and/or professional certification e.g. NEBOSH and some experience in the Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industries would be desirable. Willingness to travel up to 1 ½ hours by car between UK offices is a necessity.

Key responsibilities;

  • Conduct and/or support risk assessments and other consultancy services to control workplace hazards.
  • Support and manage interactions between international sites with consultants and arrange gap assessments, risk assessments, training, SOP development and general coordination of site visits.
  • Give support in updating health and safety programmes and tools used across EMEA and LATAM sites.
  • Provide assistance to EMEA sites with health and safety requirements; Monitor records and track actions across sites.
  • EHS Programmes, Projects and General Support.
  • Assist with providing advice and support to ensure HS considerations throughout project lifecycles.
  • Supporting EMEA initiatives and campaigns.
  • Communications with other internal departments to coordinate pieces for documents like; WebPages, Newsletter and Facilities Handbook.
  • Risk Assessments.
  • Facilities management across EMEA and LATAM sites.

Key Requirements;

  • Working knowledge of the EU, UK and local regulations across the regions of responsibilities.
  • Experience working in collaborative and cross functional teams.
  • Forward thinking, excellent communication and strong organisational skills.
  • Experience with MS Office.
  • Proven experience in the Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries is desirable.
  • A professional certification e.g. NEBOSH is also desirable.
