34873 - Exports Clerk

My client is looking for an Exports Clerk to join a global logistics provider who will be managing the export process from start to finish and to assist with the smooth running of operations for the department.

Location: Egham

Salary: Up to £28,000

Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hour working week

Key duties:

  • Arranging, charging and doing the costings for the movement of goods
  • Handling UK Export accounts
  • Understanding different countries regulations with customs and paperwork needed for import and export
  • Issuing documents to customers and overseas agents in a timely manner
  • Negotiating rates with shipping lines and co-loaders for the best rate for our exports
  • Arranging export clearance for UK export shipments
  • Doing a monthly update of the shipping schedule
  • Maintaining good relationships with customers, shipping lines and co-loaders
  • Managing deadlines and having the ability to negotiate in order to meet the deadlines
  • Ensuring delivery dates are met

Key requirements:


  • Knowledge of customs export declaration procedures
  • Knowledge and experience in ocean movements
  • Ability to raise and complete documentation
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Organised as well as a strong attention to detail
  • Strong administrative skills
