Financial Controller

Parkside Finance Recruitment are proud to be working alongside this household name who are looking for a Financial Controller to join their team.

This role has been created to develop the financial control and governance framework for the division as a separate business unit along with working with existing financial control teams to extract the function for other divisions.


  • Manage the month end process, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Oversee the production of all month end reports and Regulatory reporting for the division.
  • Improve the month end process and the quality of the monthly reporting.
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations including production of Balance Sheet Reporting
  • Work with the FP&A Manager to understand variances to forecasts and budgets
  • Conduct monthly Balance Sheet Reviews in accordance with Group Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with all group accounting policies and liaise with Group Policy
  • Consolidate and account for all branches and European Subsidiaries of division within the group
  • Ensure that all procedures are documented and kept up to date on the team HUB site
  • Own the process to manage the year-end audit, attending planning meetings, owning the production of
  • Provide ad-hoc support from Head of Finance as required


Working with Group Finance and Change teams to improve the efficiency and robustness of the financial accounting division

Continue to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and control.

Ensure new processes are documented and become firmly embedded in ways of working.

Thoroughly investigate any issue or complaint, identifying and providing satisfactory solution and

recommending and implementing corrective and preventative action to prevent re-occurrence.


Attend the bi-monthly Financial Controller Meeting contributing input on best practice and

sharing ideas for continuous improvement

Agree with key stakeholders Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

for the team.

Monitor internal customer feedback scores and take remedial action to improve service levels


  • Qualified Accountant and member of a recognised body (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • A proactive self-starter, able to work unsupervised using own initiative
  • Experience of the asset finance industry preferred, but not essential
  • Strong analytical & Excel skills essential
  • Good communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Good time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines
