We have an amazing opportunity for an experience HR Advisor who has experience of working within the Media / TV industry , my client who are based in West London are recruiting for an HR advisor to join their production studio team who has experience as a HR Generalist - including employee relations and involvement in performance management, disciplinary, grievance procedures, ideally in the media or telecommunications industry, experience of managing varied HR case workload - including flexible working, maternity and ad-hoc projects and Sound knowledge and understanding of key UK employment legislation.

  • Policy and Procedure: Advise Managers/Staff on Company Policy and Procedure. Ensure that all policy and procedure are up to date in line with employment legislation and company changes (in conjunction with the other HR Advisors).Advising Managers on contractual issues across both freelance, fixed-term and permanent engagements.
  • To meet regularly with middle managers within the client group to provide proactive advisory support as required.
  • Disciplinary/Grievance/Performance Management Procedures: Assist HR Manager in carrying out investigations, preparation/issue of appropriate documentation and attend/conduct/minute hearings - and on occasion (as/when required) conduct hearings. To provide information and guidance to Managers on all stages of the performance management process (e.g. from probation to disciplinary warning).
  • To work proactively with Managers and Employees to resolve "informal" grievance issues - escalating to formal process as appropriate.
  • Maternity, Parental & Paternity Case Management: To lead and administer the various processes, giving accurate/up-to-date information and advice to employees and managers.
  • Flexible Working - Provide advice and guidance in response to informal enquiries and in partnership with line managers, manage appropriately.
  • Absence/Leave Process: Provide information and guidance to managers and employees on company policy in respect to all leave and absence issues. Monitor employee sick leave records (both long term and ad hoc sickness). To be the first point of contact for employee issues. Advising on company policy and practice including performance management, grievance and disciplinary, absence management etc.
  • Should be a strong team player and work closely with the VP of HR
  • Ability to assert personal influence and adapt his/her style and approach to fit the situation;
  • Able to exercise sound judgement, suggest logical solutions to problems and make decisions;
  • Should be able to respond and adapt to change. Client focused, consultative and flexible in their approach;
  • Motivated, with an enthusiasm for and interest in how HR must support and contribute to the business;
  • Able to juggle and prioritise a varied workload and develop and maintain systems;
  • Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure whilst maintaining appropriate service levels;
  • Able to accept delegated responsibility and exercise initiative and judgement.
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Should be an articulate and compelling communicator, should have the ability to draft clear, fluent and concise written communications is essential;
  • Should be competent using Microsoft Word, Excel and Internet and email, and experience of database administration;
  • Experience of use and maintenance of a computerised HR database.
  • Familiarity with Workday would be advantageous, but training will be given.
