Our client are based in Thorpe in Egham in Surrey and are looking for an IT Engineer reporting into the IT Manager. You will respond to IT related inquiries undertaking fault diagnostics and resolution. The IT Engineer is involved in all areas of IT including software, hardware and network including but not limited to the following items:-

- Physical and virtual servers
- Laptop and desktop workstations (Windows and Mac)
- Desktop phones, mobile devices including tablets and cell phones (Apple and Android)
- Printers and multi-function copiers
- Switches, routers, firewalls, cable modems and wireless access points
- Projectors, SMART Boards, document cameras
- Security system software
- Endpoint protection software
- Backup software
- Phone system software
- Access control software
- Climate control software
- Wireless clock software
- Desktop virtualization software
- Legacy software systems

Cloud-based services

- Email system (Google Apps for Education)
- File sharing and archival system (Box)
- Website content management system (Final Site)
- Domain name purchasing, renewals and cancellations (Network Solutions)
- Content filtering software (OpenDNS)
- Video sharing (Vimeo)
- Remote access (GoToMyPC

Responsibilities

- 2nd/3rd line support to support all users - troubleshooting across all departments and divisions as
well as members of the School community
- Support users with all aspects of IT including GSuite and Office 365 products
- Manage support issues through to resolution, ensuring all updates and communications are recorded
on the helpdesk
- Support the IT team in maintenance and planning for infrastructure installations, upgrades and other
equipment, which may include working outside of normal day hours or weekend where appropriate
- Under the direction of the IT manager, work with suppliers to support services such as filtering and
repair services for hardware
- Maintain and update assets as required and keep inventories up to date
- Participate in IT projects including movement and installation of IT equipment
- Document any projects, including any working processes and design
