An opportunity not to be missed! A international company based in working is looking for a Qualified Management Accountant. The Global Finance team provides financial accounting and reporting; financial planning and analysis; management accounting; treasury and the financial systems, processes and control structure to support the €850 million global operations. The Central Finance team provides financial services to support the Headquarters operations across 4 worldwide locations.

The Management Accountant reports to the Head of Central Finance. The role covers the full management accounting function in accordance with the Budgetary Control Framework, providing financial support to assist the budget holders to ensure that financial budgets for Global Strategy and Annual Plan. The role also covers the implementation of Central Finance projects to support more efficient and effective ways of working

Management Accounting:

  • Responsible for ownership of the management accounting function, organising the team to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Responsible for assisting the Central Organisation Directors/budget holders, with a total annual budget of circa €30 million, in preparing and monitoring budgets through the provision of quality management accountancy support and providing budget holders with detailed, meaningful and well-presented financial information and advice;
  • The position is expected to specialise in providing 'value added' financial support to Directors /budget holders to help inform their decision making;
  • Manage and professionally develop a team of two Senior Management Accountants and provide cover for the Head of Central Finance;
  • Provide cover for the Senior Management Accountants and Financial Accountant when on leave from work;
  • Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for departments in accordance with the budget Instructions;
  • Provide financial accounting and well-presented reporting solutions for budget holders to meet business needs;
  • Budget and account for software projects and other global projects which may require accounting judgements and estimates, in accordance with the recognised accounting standards under FRS102 reporting;
  • Complete year end close tasks including preparation of elements of the financial statements and provide information for audit;
  • Expert knowledge on interpretation and application of financial policies and operating procedures, including the Operations Manual and Budgetary Control Framework;
  • A key user of SAP integrated financial and reporting (BPC) systems, applying functionality to improve cost control, project management, funds management and reporting;
  • Develop a formal structured induction programme for use at induction sessions for new budget holders;
  • Provide financial induction training to new budget holders and training to existing budget holders as and when required.

Knowledge Required

  • CIMA, ACA or equivalent professional qualification
  • Educated to first degree standard (or equivalant)
  • Strong management accounting abilities
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102. Additionally, exposure to accounting for not for profit operations and of IFRS is desirable;
  • Demonstrated experience of applying financial and accounting standards;
  • Good analytical skills and ability to interpret financial information;
  • Good knowledge and awareness of generally applicable financial policies and procedures.


  • Strong systems skills preferably with knowledge of SAP or equivalent general ledger packages, reporting databases and Microsoft Excel;
  • Able to communicate well with managers with different levels of financial understanding;
  • Good written and spoken English;
  • Able to deliver on time;
  • Experience of managing staff;
  • Ability to produce quality reports and slide packs to high presentational standards.
