Accounts Payable Assistant at a Prominent Perfume Retailer

We're looking for a well-organised and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to ensure the accurate processing of invoices and timely resolution of accounts payable concerns within our dynamic team. This role offers a great opportunity for individuals with prior accounts payable experience, particularly in a high-volume retail setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately code and process invoices and credit notes.
  • Swiftly address and resolve any rejected invoices.
  • Responsible for setting up suppliers in accordance with company policies.
  • Precisely allocate payments and receipts to invoices and suppliers.
  • Monitor and clear debit balances with suppliers.
  • Handle the accurate and timely processing of employee expenses for payment.
  • Foster strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on payment statuses and addressing any inquiries.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs and ensure monthly supplier statement reconciliations are completed promptly.
  • Provide support to the Management Accountant Teams in month-end closing, reporting, and year-end audit preparations.
  • Adhere to company policies at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger.
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume accounts payable workflows.
  • Experience with multi-currency ledgers is desirable.
  • Familiarity with document scanning and web-based approval systems.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financials is an advantage.
  • Retail or stock management experience is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
