Job description

Our client is looking for a Payroll Assistant to join a small friendly team based at their offices in East Sheen, to assist with the day-to-day operations of their payroll department. You will be responsible for all aspects of managing client's employee salary data processing. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring accuracy of employee records, and responding to employee/client's questions about all payroll-related matters.

Requirements and skills

The ideal candidate should have experience of working in a payroll environment or similar role and have the necessary qualities to perform the role.

  • Full knowledge of Auto Enrolment pension.
  • Proficiency in payroll software - preferable Bright Pay payroll software.
  • Good communicative skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to priorities tasks effectively.
  • Experience in a Finance/ Accounting environment.
  • trustworthy, honest, confidential, helpful, and responsive.


  • Administer all aspects of payroll for client's employees.
  • Process weekly, monthly, and annual payrolls.
  • Maintain payroll records and reports.
  • Verify accuracy of all payroll transactions.
  • Identify and resolve payroll error.
  • Answer employee questions about payroll policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the preparation of payroll tax returns.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
