My client based in West London are recruiting for a immediately available Payroll Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and highly analytical individual with significant experience of payroll processes and systems to join a high-profile international business and take responsibility for the entire payroll process for a workforce of 1600+ employees (and growing.)

The Role

This is a standalone role that sits within HR rather than Finance with the role 75% input/processes and 25% reporting and analysis. You would take responsibility for ensuring the company has efficient and effective controls and systems in place in order to support growth and change within the organisation. Key tasks will include…

  • Ensuring all staff are paid the correct amount on a timely basis and in line with regulatory requirements
  • Administration of third-party reconciliation including payment schedules and correspondence
  • Conducting monthly balance sheet reconciliations across all payroll, investigating discrepancies
  • Monthly / year end controls / financial reporting, improving and developing reporting capabilities

  • Assist the HR Director in managing all employee benefits

The Candidate

The role will suit a technically proficient individual with demonstrable payroll experience gained within a commercially driven finance function. You must have…

  • Detailed knowledge of payroll processes including HMRC legislation
  • An understanding of core processes and legislation related to auto enrolment, P11Ds, NI calculations etc
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel - Pivot Tables, VLookup etc
  • Excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, experience working to tight deadlines
  • Experience improving working practices and making recommendations
  • Knowledge of SDWorx advantageous but not essential
  • Experience working for businesses with circa 1,500 staff.
