An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Coordinator to join my international client.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your procurement coordination skills and make a difference.

Responsibilities:

Stock Re-Allocation

In some cases, projects are waiting on items to arrive which are in stock on another project in the warehouse. It may be that this other project is on hold, delayed, or waiting on other hardware itself.

Our Clients system is not intelligent enough to manage this situation and codes have to be checked manually. In order to address this and get as many projects moving as possible, as a Procurement Coordinator you would review stock issues on open projects and try to match those requirements from other projects proactively.

You would then reallocate stock as appropriate, liaise with the PMs, and arrange additional stock to be purchased to back-fill (or re-allocate existing open orders).

Open PO Tracking

Currently, the procurement team is not proactively monitoring updated lead times on open orders unless a problem is known on certain items for certain projects.

To ask each purchaser to follow up on all open orders would not only be unmanageable for the Client, but it would also place a strain on our suppliers, managing multiple queries a day from each purchase on their open projects. It makes far more sense to have a single review of all open purchase orders across all projects with each supplier.

This role would manage this communication, liaising with suppliers across all open orders on a regular basis, building a relationship and a cadence of reporting which should also help support better collaboration with suppliers.

As a Procurement Coordinator you would then translate this information back into the business, updating PMs on open orders, the implications of any changes or delays, and possible re-allocation as per the statement above.

This role is well placed to actively monitor returns from the site, first to see if these can plug a gap on any live projects, and secondly to get them turned around back to the supplier for a credit. There are good synergies between these responsibilities as they will be regularly in contact with suppliers and will have their finger on the pulse of any problem projects which are waiting on the stock.
