Fire Project Manager & Estimator

A well-established and growing fire & security specialist is seeking an experienced Fire Project Manager & Estimator to join its busy technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially aware and technically capable professional to take ownership of fire system projects from quotation through to completion.

The successful candidate will combine estimating expertise with strong project management skills, ensuring installations are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest industry standards.

The Role
  • Prepare quotations, tenders, and cost estimates from customer enquiries, drawings, and site surveys
  • Design and price fire alarm systems including conventional and addressable systems
  • Estimate additional systems such as emergency lighting, PA/VA, disabled refuge, nurse call, induction loops, and associated systems
  • Attend customer sites to carry out surveys and discuss project requirements
  • Present proposals and technical solutions to customers when required
  • Manage projects from handover stage through to completion
  • Coordinate installation engineers and allocate workloads effectively
  • Schedule works and agree programme dates with customers
  • Monitor installation progress and attend site where required
  • Manage project variations, additions, and change requests
  • Order materials through approved suppliers in line with company procedures
  • Support stock planning for engineers and vehicle stock levels
  • Approve engineer timesheets and manage holidays / absences
  • Provide technical support to engineers and internal teams
  • Assist with invoicing documentation and commercial close-out of projects
  • Handle customer queries and complaints professionally
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance visits
  • Provide cover for senior management when required
About the Candidate
  • Previous experience within fire alarm estimating, project management, or contracts management
  • Strong technical understanding of fire detection and life safety systems
  • Able to read drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  • Commercially aware with strong costing and pricing ability
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills
  • Strong communicator able to liaise with engineers, clients, and suppliers
  • Proactive problem-solver who can manage multiple live projects
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
Salary & Benefits
  • £45,000 - £65,000 depending on experience

Working Hours
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:30am – 5:30pm
  • One hour unpaid lunch break
