Are you an experienced Health & Safety professional looking to take ownership of site-wide safety standards? This is a great opportunity to join a busy manufacturing environment where you’ll play a key role in maintaining compliance, improving processes and keeping the factory running safely and efficiently.

The Role You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of Health & Safety across the site, ensuring compliance with ISO45001 and supporting a safe working culture. This role is hands-on and varied — ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in training, audits, systems, maintenance checks and continuous improvement.

About You
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Experience in a similar H&S role, ideally within the food or manufacturing industry
  • Trained in First Aid, Fire Marshalling, IPAF and Food Safety (or willing to refresh)
  • Confident in prioritising workload and working within a set budget
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and promote safe behaviours

Key Responsibilities
  • Support ISO45001 compliance and associated documentation
  • Ensure scheduled maintenance, safety checks and general site tests are completed (FLT, pallet trucks, compactor, bailers, ovens, lifts/hoists, LEV, suppression systems, A/C, CCTV, fire systems, boilers, refrigeration/chilling, etc.)
  • Deliver on-site H&S training including inductions, COSHH, PPE and e-learning
  • Oversee Legionella management, including routine water checks, flushing and sampling
  • Assist with risk assessments, control measures and identifying ways to reduce risk
  • Conduct audits across housekeeping, compliance, waste and general safety
  • Support accident investigations including RIDDOR reporting
  • Manage contractors and the permit-to-work process (including hot works)
  • Handle associated administration and assist with business development tasks
  • Stay up to date with HSE legislation and best practice changes
