Role: Mechanical Design Engineer - Vacuum SystemsLocation: High Wycombe
Working hours: Full-time | Permanent | Monday to Friday
Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Parkside Recruitment are looking for a hands-on
Mechanical Design Engineer to help design and build our advanced vacuum coating systems used in science and research labs around the world.
This is a great opportunity to join a small, growing engineering company working at the cutting edge of thin film and vacuum technology.
Key Responsibilities: - Design and build high-vacuum plasma coating machines
- Create CAD models, drawings, and parts lists
- Work closely with R&D on new product development
- Support testing, improvements, and product delivery
- Collaborate with suppliers and help with hands-on assembly when needed
What We're Looking For:
- Experience with mechanical design and CAD (SolidWorks or similar)
- Knowledge of vacuum systems or scientific equipment (preferred)
- Practical, problem-solving mindset
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Interest in technology and engineering innovation
