Our client based in West Sussex is looking for a Regional Estimator to join their team.
The client is a UK manufacturer of bespoke timber doors and other timber products.
This role is supporting the Sales Office Manager in delivering accurate, timely, and competitive quotations across the company core product range, with a particular focus on repeat business and quick "turn to sale" opportunities. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the estimating function supports customer success, business growth and profitability, while being part of a high performing, customer-focused team.
This role is key in ensuring efficient sales operations, maintaining customer satisfaction, and supporting the wider Sales team. Ensuring that speed to quote is balanced with commercial integrity, deliverability, and margin protection.
Job Purpose To handle incoming quote requests following transfer from the Pre-Qualification Team; including completion of all required CRM data, quote follow up and partnering with External Sales Managers to ensure that quotations issued are accurate, deliverable, and commercially robust. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and flexibility to assist with business needs.
Key Responsibilities - Review enquiries received from the Pre-Qualification Team and escalate any material gaps or risks identified, in line with agreed Commercial governance
- Challenge and clarify pre-qualified enquiry information where commercial, technical, or delivery risk is identified, escalating where required
- Preparing quotes and estimates
- Quotation follow up according to internal process
- Acting as the internal commercial owner of quotations, partnering with External Sales Managers to ensure accuracy, deliverability, and competitiveness
- Handover of commercially clean order to Regional Order Co-ordinator
- Liaising with suppliers and customers
- Coordinating with Production Control and Factory teams, where required
- Supporting joined-up teamwork between commercial and production functions
Experience
- Previous experience in an estimating or internal sales role, ideally within a construction or manufacturing environment
- Experience exercising commercial judgement and challenging information in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Familiarity with customer service and quoting processes
- Experience in liaising with suppliers and internal departments
