Senior Trading Manager – FMCG / BWS 7-Month Contract
Up to £60,000 per annum
We are looking for an experienced Senior
Trading Manager to join a fast-paced FMCG/retail environment on an initial
7-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced
buyer, trading or category professional who enjoys working with suppliers, negotiating commercial terms and using data and market insight to drive profitable trading decisions.
About you We are looking for someone with: - Proven FMCG buying, trading or category management experience.
- Strong supplier negotiation skills, with a track record of delivering measurable commercial results.
- Experience managing product ranges, budgets and promotional activity.
- Strong analytical and commercial skills, with the ability to interpret data and make sound decisions.
- Confidence presenting and negotiating with senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing or developing people.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to work across multiple teams.
- A degree or equivalent higher education qualification.
The role will involve: - Developing and delivering category and trading strategies across a national product range.
- Managing and negotiating supplier relationships, costs, terms and commercial agreements.
- Delivering trading budgets and maximising income and profitability.
- Analysing market trends, competitor activity, sales and financial data to identify opportunities and manage risk.
- Developing and delivering promotional plans in partnership with suppliers and internal teams.
- Working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure product availability, competitive ranges and strong commercial performance.
- Acting as an escalation point for supply and product issues.
- Managing and developing a Trading Assistant, providing coaching and support.
- Leading projects and implementing improvements across the trading function.
Experience within retail or wholesale, particularly FMCG or BWS, would be highly desirable.
