Top 100 UK Accountancy Practice based in
East Croydon. They are looking for an experienced and confident
VAT Compliance Manager to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in VAT who enjoys client interaction, working in a supportive environment, and being part of a firm that focuses on small to medium-sized business clients across the UK.
The Role: - Act as the primary point of contact for VAT-related client queries
- Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients (with in-house support)
- Communicate with clients via phone, email, and face-to-face meetings – clients include high street retailers, contractors, and hospitality businesses
- Collaborate with the firm’s offshore processing team – no VAT return processing required
- Submit daily internal reports and maintain clear records
- Support with basic queries around Income Tax and PAYE
Ideal Candidate: - 10+ years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice
- Strong VAT knowledge and experience advising SME clients
- Confident communicator with a client-focused approach
- Basic understanding of Income Tax and PAYE
- Highly organised and professional – able to work independently and within a team
- Must be happy to work full-time from the office – no hybrid or remote options
